Recently an informal OBE Survey was posted on my Forum and I thought everyone would find it interesting. I would like to thank Ree for submitting the Forum questions and I hope this information helps to expand our knowledge of OBEs. One of the primary reasons for creating the Forum was to provide a community for sharing information related to OBEs and other related topics. You can read the responses in real time at http://default.asp. This link will take you directly to the OBE Forum. The survey is currently on page 5 of the Forum under the title, “wanna take a survey”. It is now possible to read the Forum responses and conversation before becoming an active member. In addition, the Forum archives for the last year are also available.
Currently, there are almost twelve hundred members and over seventy active topics being discussed. A wide range of diverse subjects are covered daily including dreams, altered states and philosophy. This is a dynamic and ever changing online community that is assisting many in their individual explorations of consciousness. It is a great place to share experiences and ask questions.
It is easy to become a Forum member, registration is free and only takes a few minutes. The only required fields are your username, which may be your real name or a nickname, and a valid e-mail address. The Forum is moderated so no advertising or abusive language is allowed.
I would like to thank Sandy, Allison and Diana for their many wonderful contributions to the Forum during the year. Sandy and Allison continue to provide wise feedback and advice to many people during the year. I would also like to thank Diana, the Forum administrator, for her efforts behind the scenes. In addition, I would like to thank the entire Mach 1 Audio staff for their assistance during the year. All of their contributions are invaluable and appreciated.
I have included a copy of the survey below, feel free to provide details and personal experiences as you deem appropriate.
OBE SURVEY
1) At what age was your first OBE?
2) Was it a conscious effort, or did it "just happen"?
3) If a conscious effort, how many days / weeks / months / years did you practice before finally achieving success?
4) What time of day / night was your first experience?
5) Where were you (bed / chair / hammock / etc)?
6) Was the first OBE a positive experience?
7) How many OBE's have you had as of this date?
8) Are there any foods / beverages that you recommend avoiding prior to OBE travel?
9) Were any of your OBE's drug-induced? (marijuana, plant medicines, alcohol, etc.)
10) Did you do chakra activation prior to OBE?
11) Any other preparations? (yoga, breathing exercises, affirmations)
12) Ever contacted a friend or relative while traveling? (alive or deceased)
13) Any uncomfortable sensations / pain while exiting the body?
14) Any additional information you wish to add?
